About…

•Kalan Reese is a poet, playwright, and performer whose work moves between page, stage, and screen. Born and raised in Georgia, he explores the intersections of spirituality, identity, and labor — how stillness and struggle coexist in the modern world.

•His poetry blends spoken word cadences with literary precision, drawing from traditions of Southern storytelling, hip-hop, and surreal theater. His debut chapbook, Let Go? or Let Go..., maps the emotional weather of unemployment, ambition, and rebirth through the cycles of water.

•Kalan is currently an MFA student at Kennesaw State University. His work expands beyond poetry into performance art — merging color, movement, and layered sound to create immersive readings. When he’s not writing, Kalan is at music festivals, anime conventions, and literary spaces across the U.S He believes art should transform not only what we see, but how we see ourselves.
